In 1995 Terrence M. O'Donovan, M.D., F.A.C.S. joined
Chesapeake Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine and is currently the
Medical Director for the practice. He is an expert in hand
surgery in which he holds a certificate of added qualification
(CAQ). His special areas of interest include shoulder, elbow,
wrist, and hand. He received his undergraduate and medical
degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After
a general surgery internship at Washington Hospital Center, he
completed his residency in orthopaedics and his fellowship in hand
surgery at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. O'Donovan completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the renowned New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He was also the Chief of the Hand Surgery Department at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia from 1990-1994.
Dr. O'Donovan is board certified in both hand and orthopaedic surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand since 1994. Dr. O'Donovan currently serves as Chief of Orthopaedics at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
