Karen Sims joined Chesapeake Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center in 2004 after working for several years at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Practicing as Physician Assistant for six years, Ms. Sims has previously worked with orthopaedic, general, and vascular surgeons in State University of New York's hospital healthcare system.

Ms. Sims graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree from Stony Brook Medical School at State University of New York. She received her second Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant from D'Youville College in Buffalo in New York, graduating summa cum laude.

She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants and she is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
